House Rules

No additional guests staying. Only the number that has been booked.

No swapping guests in/out during the stay. The same guests for the duration please.

No loud music. No noise after 10pm. Please respect our neighbours.

Please respect the village.

Be very careful not to spill anything on the carpets. They cannot be cleaned. Previous guests had to pay £3,500 to replace stained carpets.

No food or drinks to be taken upstairs into the bedrooms.

Please don't stick anything on the walls.

Please ensure that gates to the property are closed when not in use.

Always set the alarm when not in the house.

Please use the black microfibre makeup removing cloths to remove makeup. Please don't stain white towels with makeup.

Please follow the recycling instructions throughout your stay. All bins are clearly labelled.

Please ensure that rubbish and recycling is correctly disposed of in the outside bin area. If it is not, it won't get taken away.

Please take all unused food with you, or put in the food waste bins. Please don't chuck it all in the general waste bin upon checkout.

Please treat everything in the house with care and respect. There are a lot of very expensive items in the house.

Please leave the house exactly as you found it. Everything in the correct place, with all plates, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils put through the dishwasher and put back.
Hot Tub
The hot tub is eco-friendly, using no chemicals or electricity. It is heated by a wood burner attached to the tub — firewood and kindling are provided.
While heating, stir the water with the paddle to mix the hot water with the cold. Allow 90+ minutes for the water to reach temperature.
The water can be used for up to 3 days, after which it will need replacing.
Cinema
To turn on the cinema screen and projector, press the green ON button on the top left of the large remote control, pointing it at the projector.
To turn it off, press the red OFF button on the top right. Volume is already set at an appropriate cinema level.
Feel free to log into the Batheaston House streaming accounts — but please don't purchase anything using the house's account. Disney+ can be a bit slow sometimes.
Heating & Fireplaces
Heating and hot water will always be on. The radiators have wooden disc valves — turn anti-clockwise to turn on, clockwise to turn off.

Firewood and kindling are provided. Please do not leave open fires unattended.
All other fireplaces are sealed — please don't attempt to use them.
The fire alarm panel is in the 'Housekeeping Cupboard' in the basement hall. Carbon monoxide detectors are in each room with a fireplace.

Please leave the house exactly as you found it:
- All plates, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils put through the dishwasher and put back
- Leave the keys on the kitchen table
- Lock all doors and set the alarm before leaving
- Take all unused food with you, or put in the food waste bins
- Ensure rubbish and recycling is in the correct outside bins
- Strip bedding of duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases if possible, and leave towels separately in one place (greatly appreciated, but not expected)
